love this. I remember being very bought in to the meme that “college is the best four years of your life”, and it made me really dread the end of college and how boring my life would be afterwards. I was very wrong – my best years have come after college, though I think it was pretty specific to my own life path (post-college life gave me space to discover things I forgot that I loved; really feels like I've become _myself_ in a way I never was in college). it's definitely possible to build that sense of community after college, and I think it's getting easier over time, but it does require more effort. you also get a lot of freedom from not being bound by the semesterly structure.
